What road bike peddles should I get?
Sorry for those who answered my question earlier, I wanted to ask about pedals. I’ve been using SPD MT 51 shoes while using pedal straps. I’ve decided I want to start using and install new clipless pedals and cleats. Any recommendations for someone new to this?
If you want road pedals you will have to go with road shoes. I have SPD shoes and just use SPD pedals on my road, hybrid and mountain bike. I use Shimano M-520 pedals on all my bikes and they work great. I like being able to walk around in my shoes. Road bike shoes are liter and stiffer and may help if your foot goes numb or you get hot spots. Spend $35-$40 on M-520 pedals and try that first. You can always go with road shoes and pedals later if you like but I think you will be happy with the SPD pedals.
