A brief history of Tires
In the early days
In the beginning tires were constructed with iron and placed to wheels produced from wood. Wheelwrights forged the tires in high temperature fires. After that they affixed the tire to the wheel and let it cool so it would contract tightly. The outer ring “tied” it all together.
The original pneumatic tire was made by John Dunlop for a bike his son used in 1887 to minimize the instability of rough roads.
A pneumatic tire are made with bendable components (most commonly rubber alongside with materials like wire and fabric. The original tire makers were founded in the beginning of the last century and rose alongside the auto industry. Now over 1 billion tires are created each year.

In 1843 Goodyear created vulcanization.

Pirelli invented the original wide radial tire.
An interesting fact: the word tire derives from to tie or attire and is also accurately spelled as tire or tyre.
